Three Keys to a Successful One Time Offer

Your goal as a sales person is to get your prospect to buy your product or service now rather then at sometime in the future. The hard part is creating that need to act now, on the part of the prospect. The one time offer is the internet marketers best tool for creating this sense of urgency. There are several keys to using one time offers effectively.

First the one time offer must truly be a one time offer. Although this sounds simple enough many times internet marketers ignore this. A pop up when someone is leaving your site offering a low rate is not a one time offer. There is no sense of urgency created. The prospect can still leave and come back later, close out your page and get the same offer. While these offers are valuable and have their place, it does not create urgency. There should be no way for a prospect to return to your one time offer page, even if they bookmark it.

Second the one time offer must offer something of value. Most internet marketers who use one time offers, either simply offer a lower price on their product or a bunch of junk MRR products. I have found it more productive and profitable to offer something extra of value that is related to your core product. Be creative and solve the needs of your prospects and make your offer irresistible. You are only trying to push fence sitters off the fence to your side. You’re still not going to sell to everyone, don’t give away the farm, be creative. For example:

-If you’re sell a computer script offer to install it.
-If you’re selling a product to internet marketers offer one week of personal consultation.

Finally, don’t forget to put one time offers on your return page when someone signs up for your free product via your autoresponder. I am surprised at the number of times I am returned to the autoresponders ‘thank you for subscribing’ page when I join someone’s email list. This is the perfect spot for a one time offer. You should not waste any sales opportunity.
