Ready Fire Aim
My quick report on Ready Fire Aim by Michael Masterson which I highly recommend
I have quickly learning that if you want to make money in internet marketing, you must treat it and run it like a business. You can not have the mindset of a hobby or part time income or someday I’ll…
While I agree it is important to understand the tactics of internet marketing (how to set up an opt-in, etc) it is more important as a business to have a strategy, a vision. Then you find the right tactics that fit your strategy.
The second must as a business owner, “You must know the numbers.” If you don’t know what numbers are important the book does a great job of defining the key sales numbers you will need to know to run a successful business. Before you worry about opt-in rates and conversion percentages there are key business numbers you should know: like what is the life time value of each new customer.
You really only need to read roughly the first 125 pages of this book, unless you are making over $1M, as it begins to talk about large organizations. The book will give describe precisely what you need to do to start a business (hint: it’s not about buying office furniture, a new fax, finding an office, etc.). It’s is about testing and selling your product! The book talks at length about product placement (USP). It will give you the knowledge to form a strategy on which to build your business. Then you can learn the IM tactics.
So, I would encourage everyone to not only read IM ebooks, etc, but to make sure you are also reading business books as well and Ready Fire Aim is a good one to start with.
