Five Steps to a Profitable Email Marketing List

By now I am sure you realize the absolute power of email marketing. You cannot be an online marketer and expect to be continually profitable with the use of email marketing, but what very few people understand is how to build a profitable list. There is a big difference between building a list and building a profitable list.

The first step to a profitable list is a profitable niche. You need to investigate your niche before you enter the market. There are entire courses and ebooks dedicated to the topic of investigating a niche. If you choose to enter a niche that is too small or has too much competition it will be very difficult to build a profitable business or list. Do you homework first; it will save a lot of frustration on the back end.

The second step is to develop a quality product or service that serves a need found in your chosen niche. This could be an ebook, but there are numerous other options such as videos, ecources or audio. Note I said develop a product or service, it is my option this is the best way to long-term success. You may be able to replace an affiliate product or service, but you have little control on the price.

The third step is to offer your quality product and a very attractive price. Your goal is to build your reputation for delivering quality products at a great price. The biggest profit from you list comes on the back end when you can sell multiple times to the same people. These are the people you want on your list. Not freebee seekers. Of course you should collect the emails of those who don’t buy from you. But you goal for that list is only to get them to buy your, “introductory product”.

The fourth step is to deliver quality information related to your niche to your list of buyers. Initially, you should offer them at least two consecutive emails with free valuable information, before you try to sell them product two.

The final step is to continue to provide a mix of free valuable information and great quality offers. They will begin to trust and respect you. You should them offer them higher end (and higher profit items.
